Suzuki Academy top
Beginning at Age 3, Violin
The Suzuki Method was developed by Japanese musician and educator, Doctor Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998). The Suzuki method employs the "mother tongue" approach--a child will attain music skills the way he or she learns to speak--through exposure, imitation, and encouragement. Parental participation and support--in lessons, practice at home, and daily listening to recordings of their repertoire--are cornerstones of the Suzuki method and essential to your child's success.
Parent Orientation
The required parent orientation class ensures that every family enrolled in NCMA's Suzuki Academy will have the infrmation needed to achieve success with Suzuki Method of instruction. We will provide suggested readings about the Suzuki Method, specific information about the way our school operates, and tips to help motivate your child and keep them excited about learning. One parent from each newly enrolled family must take the Parent Orientation class, preferably that parent or caregiver who will regularly attend lessons and practice with the child.
Instructors: Robin Restrepo and Karen Snodgrass
Tuition: $12 (Complimentary childcare will be provided)
